The Madlanga Commission has postponed the long-awaited in-camera testimony of former SAPS Crime Intelligence deputy head Major-General Feroz Khan after he appeared remotely on Tuesday morning.
Khan was unable to give evidence after the commission was informed that a family member had been killed in a shooting on the R21 in Gauteng on Monday night.
The commission has not yet announced a new date for Khan’s testimony.
Khan’s appearance before the commission has already faced several delays. He was previously scheduled to testify in June but was shot in Houghton just days before he was due to appear.
The former Crime Intelligence official’s repeated failure to appear has also resulted in the commission ordering that criminal charges be brought against him over an earlier non-appearance.
His eventual testimony is expected to take place behind closed doors, with the commission yet to confirm when the proceedings will resume.
