Missing child Kutlwano has been found alive at OR Tambo International Airport, after police reportedly intercepted a woman who was allegedly attempting to take him out of South Africa.
According to information surrounding the case, the woman was with Kutlwano at the airport and allegedly claimed that she was his aunt. She was reportedly preparing to travel with the child to Zimbabwe when authorities intervened.
The woman is said to have previously worked for Kutlwano’s family and allegedly told authorities that she had helped raise the child.
Police reportedly stepped in before the pair could board their flight and leave the country, allowing Kutlwano to be safely recovered.
The circumstances surrounding how the child came to be in the woman’s care, and why she allegedly attempted to take him to Zimbabwe, remain subject to investigation.
Kutlwano’s recovery brings relief to his family following his disappearance, while authorities are expected to investigate the woman’s alleged actions and determine whether criminal charges will follow.
