A heavily pregnant Limpopo mother accused of poisoning her two young sons to death has been granted R2,000 bail, despite concerns over her safety if she returns to her community.
Ntanganedzeni Thelma Siphugu, 27, appeared before the Tshilwavhusiku Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 5 October 2026, where the court granted her bail.
Siphugu is accused of murdering her two sons, six-year-old Otewa Thenjeni and nine-year-old Akonaho Siphugu, in Madabani Village outside Louis Trichardt in June 2026.

She allegedly poisoned the children with rat poison following a dispute with their father.
The court heard concerns about Siphugu’s safety should she return to the community while the case proceeds.
