The Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) has arrested a 38-year-old man who was allegedly caught selling dagga at a taxi rank in Ga-Rankuwa.
The TMPD Drug Unit conducted an intensified operation in the area on Friday, 7 August 2026, as part of efforts to clamp down on drug-related criminal activities.
Police said the suspect was allegedly found dealing in dagga at the Direla Shopping Complex taxi rank.
A search reportedly resulted in the seizure of 184 zip-lock packets containing dagga, as well as approximately 1.126 kilograms of unpackaged dagga.
The man was arrested and detained at a local police station.
He is facing charges of possession of and dealing in dagga and is expected to appear in court.
The operation forms part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement to disrupt the illegal drug trade in Tshwane.
