Limpopo-born artist and performer Limpopo Boy, real name Robert Matome Thoka, has responded through his management to an intimate video circulating on social media.
Thoka is an internationally recognised dancer, choreographer and musician who has performed at major events, including the Global Citizen Festival. He also won the Brussels Dance Battle in Belgium in July 2023.
The performer has a significant social media following, with approximately 4.1 million followers on Facebook, 1.1 million on Instagram and 2 million on TikTok.
In a statement, his management described the circulation of the video as unauthorised and malicious, alleging that the footage was obtained and distributed without his consent.
The video, which has circulated widely online, appears to have originated from a Facebook Story posted under the account name Limpopo Boy RSA. Management has urged members of the public not to share, download or engage with the material.
“This content was stolen without consent and shared entirely without authorisation,” the management team said, describing the incident as a serious privacy violation and a criminal matter.
According to management, cybersecurity experts have been engaged to investigate how the footage was obtained and distributed. The team is also working with legal representatives and online platforms to have the material and links removed.
The management further warned that continued distribution of the video could cause additional harm and appealed to the public to refrain from circulating it.
Although comments on the management’s statement may have been restricted, the matter has continued to generate discussion across social media platforms.
Vision6000 will continue to monitor the story as further information becomes available.
