Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma appeared before the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, where he is facing extradition proceedings initiated by UK authorities, as well as a separate South African case involving the alleged possession of an unlicensed firearm.
Tshuma was arrested in Kensington, Johannesburg, on Friday after police allegedly found him in possession of an illegal firearm.
British authorities are seeking his extradition to face charges relating to the deaths of his wife and two daughters in Bedfordshire.
The extradition process is expected to continue once the South African firearm matter has been addressed, with UK authorities working alongside South African law enforcement to facilitate his return.
The matter has been postponed to 22 July 2026.
Tshuma’s mother and several relatives attended the court proceedings but declined to comment to the media.
